Hello. California requires vaccine providers to report patient race/ethnicity to the vaccine registry. Are health centers participating in HRSA's vaccine program (located in CA) also required to collect and report this information? Thank you.

Schools in NJ are partnering with vaccination sites to host school vaccination clinics, this is great but registration has been lower than anticipated. Youth are expressing that their parents/ caregivers are not fully on board even if they (the youth) are. We are looking to do a talking point tip sheet for teens to talk to parents caregivers. Is anything like this already out there?
Dr MUKUND NARAYAN Lal

Thanks Amy mam.

I think giving teens "text tips" they can share with their parents would be useful. I too have teens interested but their parents will not allow them.

Adapting the NYTimes vaccine chatbot for adolescents talking with their parents would be excellent. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/05/20/opinion/covid-19-vaccine-chatbot.html?action=click&module=Opinion&pgtype=Homepage

My employer gave 4 hours PTO to get vaccinated. Could an incentive be for parent to take a teen for vaccine appointment with similar incentives?
Jenny Baker

Especially, because in many states, youth cannot get vaccine unless there is a parent consenting.

@Ragha interesting point. Several states have enacted or proposed bills permitting employees to receive the COVID vaccine on work time or require employers to provide paid leave for employees to get the vaccine. I don't think we've seen bills enacted that include paid leave for parents to take their children but I'll look into it.
