What is the website to find the new reviewer information?
JDavis
01:36:41
The website is located on the HRSA Grants Website. Give me a minute and I will send the link.
JDavis
01:37:59
https://www.hrsa.gov/grants/index.html
Judith
01:38:12
thank you for the link
Michele Guzman
01:39:00
Super helpful! I’ve reviewed before and are currently reviewing, so this is very timely. I really like the quality control that you have introduced with these efforts.
André L McGuire
01:39:05
Thank You Tracy!
Judith
01:41:02
In the New Review Reviewer Instruction Guide include example of Strength vs Met?
terry schirk
01:42:29
When can we expect to have the New Reviewer Orientation Call? I'm a new person who has done 1 review and need some training! thanks!!
Vine Samuels
01:43:33
How much is the honorarium?
Jamie Schield
01:45:47
Jeannie - followed the link but don’t see where to go to get the new reviewer training guide. Must be missing it.
Belinda Hernandez (she/her/ella)
01:45:58
Will the new reviewer orientation include a hands on training on how reviewers are to use ARM to score, and ALSO how to score during a review? We also have very long delays due to not knowing how to go in and out of the scoring during the actual review. Thanks. This was a nice training and things to look forward to.
Belinda Hernandez (she/her/ella)
01:46:45
Will CoI's still be required in the Reviewer Registry when asked to be on panel?
Dr. Barbara Blozen NJ
01:46:56
How do we let you know that we are interested/available for a review?
Vine Samuels
01:47:22
When are the applications are going to be assigned? How many per reviewer?
Tracy M. Worley
01:47:45
Hold off on the chat for a few so that we can get caught up
Norma Piel-Brown (she, her) - Callie Clinic
01:47:46
Can we attend the new reviewer orientation as a "Refresher"?
Belinda Hernandez (she/her/ella)
01:48:25
What is being done by F2 Solutions to secure reviewers early on? I am often being asked about 1-2 weeks before a review and that is not enough time especially if we also work regular jobs. Happy to step in when I can but that puts some stress on those of us asked last minute.
Toyah Reid
01:50:44
What would justify rating something as strength?
Kathye Gorosh
01:50:57
went to the link on grant reviews - but I don't see the New Reviewer Guide??
Jamie Schield
01:51:00
For reviews needing a comment for “met” - This is what I have used and was okay, at the time. Is this statement okay to use based on what you are wanting now? “The applicant sufficiently supplied all the information as requested in the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO).”
Norma Piel-Brown (she, her) - Callie Clinic
01:51:20
COI Question - Are we doing the COI twice? Once via paper document that gets sent to you and now electronically per each application?
Martha Carter
01:52:26
I just found it tedious to repeat the Met statement that says they supplied all the information required in the NOFO.
Janice Burch
01:56:08
We love you dearly, Jeannie, and will miss you being with us! But I am so happy for you that you can retire now! Enjoy!
micheleedwards
01:56:20
I like the MET
Teddi Williams
01:57:35
You have always been a stellar leader—retire well dear Jeannie
micheleedwards
01:57:41
, could the following language be used - “The application has MET the baseline requirement of the NOFO.” ?
Dan Rubin
01:58:36
I will simply say that I find the new candor refreshing. I noted it in the last update I attended also. I agree that polite directness to an applicant is the right mode
Steve Geiermann (he.his)
02:00:16
thanks for a very informative session. I agree that the candor is refreshing. Much appreciated.
Norma Piel-Brown (she, her) - Callie Clinic
02:00:20
Thank you! Now I understand why.
Mathila Ruwe
02:04:44
Please comment on the purpose of comprehesion test that has been recently introduced as a conditon to be fulfeild in selecting reviweer to particpate in the pannel. given that no one fails the test, and that process is time consuming for potential reviewer, most who are not selected despite passing the test; why not give to confirmed reviewers as an addiotnal too to helped with the review process
Ashika Brinkley
02:09:20
Are you still rating reviewers? I know there was some discussion of this at some point.
Kathryn Reiss
02:09:40
I have heald multiple weeks for F2 but NEVER selected yet!!
Haleh Sepasi
02:10:02
Haleh Sepasi ( hsepasi@hrsa.gov)
Sharon S Williamson
02:12:27
Is it okay for me to leave? I have no other questions. I must get back to work. Thank you!
Mathila Ruwe
02:12:32
Mathilda Ruwe: my question in the comprehensing tets:Please comment on the purpose of comprehension test that has been recently introduced as a condition to be fulfilled in selecting reviewer to participate in the panel. Given that no one fails the test, and that process is time consuming for potential reviewer, most who are not selected despite passing the test; why not give to confirmed reviewers as an additional tool to helped with the review process
Janice Holmes
02:13:44
Also, do not put a strength and weakness together
Norma Piel-Brown (she, her) - Callie Clinic
02:13:56
I'm going to have to leave. Thank you for this meeting. It has been very informative.
Martha Carter
02:18:13
Great question, Ronnie!
Steve Geiermann (he.his)
02:19:01
I appreciated Ronnie's question. I would also rely upon the other two primary reviewers to add to the whole.
Judith
02:19:24
Not a question for discussion: Can I be put on the list for a new Reviewer to be in the "New Reviewer" Class
Susan W
02:19:32
Thank you Ronnie for your question
Japhet M Nyakundi
02:19:50
Ronnie!, Appreciate your question.
Lyn Hardy
02:20:44
I agree with the discussion surrounding the association with MET and Strength or Weakness. I agree - use the MET when you have nothing else to say - it's not a strength or weakness
Sharon Banks Tarr
02:21:01
Thank you Ronnie, you have asked my questions
Teddi Williams
02:21:19
Fully, compellingly
Lyn Hardy
02:21:20
I don't like using adjectives at all
Teddi Williams
02:22:00
The substance is what’s important
Lyn Hardy
02:22:41
You can make a positive statement about what they did - and place it under strengths
Vine Samuels
02:23:18
It is not that deep! I am now getting confused. I am experienced reviewer and I think with experience, these things will be more evident.
Teddi Williams
02:23:26
Attachment A is very good
Susan W
02:23:37
I keep a thesaurus with me when writing my statements
Teddi Williams
02:23:49
@susan me too
michele Maddox
02:24:45
I remember those days well!
Toni Thomas
02:25:04

02:26:13

Cheryl Hunter-Grant
02:26:39
Thank you for this training. I look forward to the changes and will review the new reviewer orientation.
Nancy Buxser
02:26:54
Please send out the link for the HRSA reviewer page again. I have lost all my bookmarks. Thanks!
Nancy Buxser
02:27:35
I also think met statements will decrease score creep as many responses were turned into strength statements when the weren't warranted.
Lyn Hardy
02:27:45
I found, as a previous program officer, that application submitters welcome candid comments to better their writing
Nasheedah Muhammad
02:27:59
I agree Nancy
OmerFamily
02:28:33
Please send the link to the replay of this meeting. Thanks.

Trevor Pearson
02:33:37
As a rule, I write a one-page script and remove any comments made by the two other reviewers so that review times are shortened and more manageable.
Kathryn Fraser
02:33:53
Please send link to the recording and link to the New Reviewer Manual.

A comment for you to address from script: Consider increasing the honorarium per "dayi" - on an actual hour-worked basis it is very very low.
