The Summary of Funding slide indicated the award amount is up to $1M PER YEAR, however the NOFO (pg. I) indicates up to $1M PER AWARD. Can you please clarify if it's $1M per year or $1M over 4 years? Thank you.

Preceptor-NOFO page 3 Health Workforce Glossary: Preceptor: A health professional responsible for specific aspects of the clinical learning experience. The preceptor is responsible for the daily teaching and assignment of individuals to be cared for, supervision, and participation in the evaluation of the nursing student. The preceptor provides the student with an environment that permits observation, active participation, and management of primary health care.

If a proposed project only includes 1 academic partner and 1 clinical partner (such as an FQHC with multiple service sites), can the academy be a "closed" system, i.e. only train nurses from the academic institution and clinical partner?

In the grant, we discuss clinical faculty and preceptros. Does the NOFO consider them the same or different?

So we could use this to train current NPs and physicians to be preceptors for student NPs?

So, the grant could pay a portion of salary and benefits of a FT faculty, but not "release time"...is that correct? Say you wanted to dedicate .4FTE of a faculty to be PI, then the grant would pay that and the university would pay .6 of the faculty who was FT?

For clarification in writing:The individual may be compensated (fee for service) for working on the curriculum development; BUT may not be paid for release time.--Therefore, Release Time is not an allowable cost for this grant program.--Payment of Release time is not allowable under the cost principles

Hello Brenda, to be eligible for NEPQR-CFPA: Eligible applicants include accredited schools of nursing, as defined by 42 U.S.C § 296(2) (PHS Act section 801(2)), health care facilities, including federally qualified health centers or nurse-managed health clinics, or a partnership of such a school and facility.

Training preceptors is great, but in terms of finding them employment at a reasonable salary is difficult. Is there any funding opportunities to help pay faculty and preceptors?

The applicant needs to develop our own curriculum for the perceptors , right?

Increasing the salary for nursing faculty would increase the amount of faculty available and therefore allow nursing schools to increase the amount of nurses they produce.
